Our sandwich panel lines are made with high technology systems and designed for the automatic and continuous production of high-quality sandwich panels.

With our range of sandwich panel lines you can manufacture polyurethane and rockwool sandwich panel with different side facings, thicknesses and profiles and the option of a polyurethane core structure.

Our sandwich panel line is developed to be innovative, performant, eco-friendly and ergonomic turn-key systems. The sandwich panel line can be working in continuous production.

All sandwich panel lines are used for the sandwich panel production. KRONN sandwich panel line realize high quality sandwich panels such as:

  • pu sandwich panels for roof (corrugated, wavy or tile imitation);
  • wall panels (true fix joint or hidden joint);
  • sandwich panels for industrial doors;
  • panels for storage, conservation warehouse or cold rooms;
  • panels for housing units;
  • insulating boards type paper/paper for residential insulation.
  • boards and panels for special application.

The feeding systems on our sandwich panel line are made with high quality material and all our panel lines are created to work with low energy consumption.

Our sandwich panel lines can be divided into different equipment and production systems that can produce mineral wool sandwich panel, eps sandwich panel and pu sandwich panel set to the standard required by the global sandwich panel trade worldwide.

Our sandwich panel line consists of five machine sections:

  • metal sheet processing section;
  • panel cutting section with cutting system;
  • panel handling wrapping section;
  • mineral wool section for mineral wool sandwich.
A strong core structure

METAL SHEET PRODUCTION

Thanks to the partnership with company Buson Srl, KRONN decides to produce internally the sandwich panel line core structure.

This structure is made up of electro-welded beams with reference surfaces processed by CNC machine. This makes our sandwich panel line the strongest one in the world.

The spindle is self-expanding in order to block the coil by means of a hydraulic cylinder activated by a hydraulic box complete with all the valves necessary for its operation.

The same hydraulic box activates the transversal movement of the structure to align it with the rest of the sandwich panel line.

The spindle is rotated through an electrical motor equipped with a sensor which detects the height of the coil loop.

Lift & Place

COIL CAR

The coil car in our sandwich panel line has the function to hold the coils and to lift and place them in correspondence of the decoiler spindle.

The core structure is made up of electro-welded beams with reference surfaces processed by CNC machine.

The horizontal movement is carried out by a hydraulic motor which activates 4 wheels sliding on a rail.

The vertical movement, guided by columns, is performed through a hydraulic cylinder stroke 500 mm.

The coiling process equipment includes all the devices used for the correct movement of the steel sheet from the decoiling area to the rest of the sandwich panel line.

It is composed by:

  • coil press system;
  • pinch-roll with hydraulic movement;
  • extendable tables;
  • guides & support;
  • guide rollers;
  • idle roller conveyors.

CUTTING SYSTEM

The cutting phase can be foreseen either at the end of the production of a coil or when a production change is needed.

The cut is made both on the tail of the coil, whether it is already produced or to be replaced, and on the head of the new coil.

The machine of our sandwich panel line is composed of a movable upper blade and a fixed lower blade.

The movement of the upper blade is carried out with pneumatic cylinders.

JOINING SYSTEM

The joining system realizes the junction of the metal sheets coming from two different coils without stopping the production of the sandwich panel line.

Our sandwich panel line machine is composed of:

  • rubber rollers for introducing and positioning the steel sheets;
  • pneumatically inclinable roller conveyors for creating the loop;
  • adhesive tape uncoiling double unit (top and bottom).

 

In order to improve our sandwich panel line, the uncoiling is realized through:

  • pneumatic clamp and electric motor;
  • pressing group to fix the adhesive tape at the connection of the two steel sheets.
How we shape roof and wall panels

MICRORIBBER

The roll forming in a sandwich panel line device is used to make low/high ribs on the steel sheet, according to the design required for the sandwich panel line. This production process allows to realize wall and roof panels.

The machine in the sandwich panel line is composed of:

  • a hydraulic lifting device with manual control;
  • a pneumatic device with mechanical stops for transversal movement. It is designed to position the machine centered with the rest of the line.

Production process

DOUBLE BELT AND WET SECTION

PRE-HEATING SYSTEM FOR POLYURETHANE SANDWICH PANELS / PIR SANDWICH PANEL / WOOL SANDWICH PANEL

Our sandwich panel line provides the heating function of the steel sheet at the temperature adjusted according to the production requirements, to facilitate a better adhesion and the expected cycle time for the glue.

The preheating function in our sandwich panel line is divided into two parts, completely independent of each other. The first part concerns the heating of the lower steel sheet, while the second part consists in the upper steel sheet heating. The temperature can be set and the control system is managed separately for internal and external steel sheets. Heating occurs through radiation using infrared lamps operated by a modular power regulator.

DOSING SYSTEM

The dosing parts for the continuous production of sandwich panel are intended to meet customer specific requirements. In our sandwich panel line all additives, catalysts, pentane and air,  are dosed with high pressure systems. In our sandwich panel line we have dedicated a special effort to the storage of polyol, isocyanate and pentane, making it easier and safer than before.

DOUBLE BELT

The heart of the sandwich panel line is the double belt. The double belt is the fulcrum of the production system. It is a continuous press that connects the upper face with the lower face of the polyurethane sandwich panels, PIR sandwich panels and wool sandwich panels and maintains their shape throughout the production process.

In our sandwich panel line we use an advanced control system that allows material control, ensuring a minimum consumption in the production line.

CUTTING SYSTEM

CUTTING SYSTEMS

In our sandwich panel line the automatic band saw is used to cut flying panels through an automatic system. If the customer requires it, we can interconnect our band saw with the ERP/SAP system. The most widely used saw unit in sandwich panel line is the flying cut to length. It is equipped with a fully automatic system to clean and remove iron shaving thanks to an automatic brush.

Today the market requires high quality sandwich panels. For this reason our sandwich panel line boasts a special equipment for the removal of dust and product residues during the cutting phase.

COOLING AND HANDLING

This equipment includes a cooling section and a sandwich panels stacking section. This system consists of a horizontal container that has the function of storing the sandwich panel in a vertical position on a cooling section. Outside the cooler, after the cooling section, the sandwich panels are stacked by means of the pick & place suction system.

WRAPPING SYSTEM

The horizontal wrapping system of our sandwich panel line consists of a sandwich panel packaging machine. The packaging is done by rotating machines for wrapping with stretch film.

Special attention is paid to the optimization of the consumption of the film, automatically controlling the film pre-tension.
